Autostart daemon from ring.cx universally (not just GNOME and KDE)

It seems that ring.cx only behaves well on KDE and GNOME. On other desktops and window managers, I have to start the daemon manually:

dring -dcp

I'm not sure why that is: it seems that ring.cx could automatically start the daemon itself, and this on any desktop.

Thoughts?
